The August 22nd edition will feature fall sports coaches from around the area, the episode will feature high school football season preview content and well as other fall sports content. The show will air live at Hy-Vee in Fort Dodge each Saturday in their market grill area and the public is invited to come out. Rob Jones will serve as host of the program as he has since the show’s inception in fall of 2019. Rob said of the relaunch date ” The August 22nd episode I am excited about, I have been working to book coaches for fall sports from area schools. We will have a solid line up for the 22nd and look forward to previewing the upcoming high school sports season. I want to invite all the listeners who feel comfortable with coming out to do so. It will be a fun time with the coaches as always and I always enjoy meeting and talking to the listeners. Without their support this show falls on deaf ears”.
Hy-Vee has served as the title sponsor and host venue since the show started last fall. ” Hy-Vee Fort Dodge is the place to be each and every Saturday Morning. Tim (Store Director) and his entire staff are 1st class they take great care of their customers and of the coaches and I. They have been fully supportive of the vision of this show and I couldn’t ask for a better corporate partner as the title sponsor and host venue. This show wouldn’t be what it is today without the commitment of Hy-Vee Fort Dodge”, Jones said.
Jones said of the coaches in the area ” When we started this show last fall, I was unsure exactly how the coaches in the area would take to it. However, I was pleasantly surprised because immediately last fall we had a high level interest from football and other fall season coaches who made being on this show a priority. I am a former high school basketball coach and I know how difficult and demanding the schedule can be in season, that makes me appreciate the coaches in this area even more. Our fall last year was a success in getting us off the ground, Hy-Vee Fort Dodge made a year round commitment to this. The coaches in winter sports responded in a major way in addition to the fall sports coaches. Then we relaunched for baseball/softball over the summer and the response from those coaches was also tremendous. The coaches are the motor that drives the show, the people of the area want to hear their takes and want to hear them talk about the tremendous student athletes they have in their programs. This show is driven by the coaches but our main goal is always to give the people the info on what is going on in high school sports in this area. All of what is going on in those sports, is driven by those student athletes.”
Scheduled guests for the Fall Season Preview Edition on Aug. 22nd include, New Fort Dodge Head Football Coach Nik Moser, St. Edmond Football Coach Matt Dillon, Mike Szalat from St. Edmond Cross Country, Humboldt Football Coach Derrick Elman, Andy Jacobson of Algona Football and new Manson NW Webster Head Football Coach Marty Hart. All fall sports season coaches from all the schools in the listening area have a standing invite to come and be on the show.
