Identity Of Iowa State Student Found Dead Friday Released

The Ames Police Department has identified the 21-year-old Iowa State University student who was found dead in a sorority parking lot Friday morning.

Police were called out just before 10 AM on a report of an unconscious woman. They arrived and found  s 21-year-old Olivia Chutich who was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. The Ames Police Dept. says they believe she had been there since the early morning hours on Friday.

Iowa State University issued the following statement:

“The Iowa State community is saddened to learn of the death of one of our students. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time. ISU is cooperating with the Ames Police Department, which is leading the investigation. The university is providing support and resources for students who are impacted.”

Officer conducted interviews on Friday, as they worked to try and piece together what transpired. The death remains under police investigation.
