Increased Law Enforcement Presence

DRIVER’S IN WEBSTER COUNTY WILL NOTICE INCREASED LAW ENFORCEMENT BETWEEN NOW AND THE FIRST OF JANUARY.  THE WEBSTER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ANNOUNCED IT IS PARTNERING WITH THE US DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION’S NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION TO REMOVE IMPAIRED DRIVERS FROM THE ROADS.  IN A PRESS RELEASE, THE WEBSTER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NOTED THAT NATIONWIDE OVER TEN THOUSAND PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN DRUNK-DRIVING CRASHES IN 2018 AND 27 PERCENT OF THOSE WERE ALCOHOL-RELATED.   THE HOLIDAYS TEND TO SEE HIGHER RATES OF DRUNK DRIVING AND DRIVERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PLAN AHEAD BY DESIGNATING A SOBER DRIVER, OR CALLING A TAXI, UBER, OR FRIEND FOR A RIDE AFTER DRINKING.
