Iowa Basketball Announces The Death Of Former Player Over The Weekend
A former Iowa Basketball player has died, Iowa Basketball announced via twitter on Saturday. Michael Reaves died last Friday at his home in Georgia surrounded by his family. Reaves played for Iowa from 1985-1988. He was recruited by and first played for George Raveling, then finished his career at Iowa playing for Dr. Tom Davis. The tenure Reaves played for Iowa, is the 2nd most successful 4 year stretch in program history. Reaves was a member of the Hawkeyes Elite 8 team in 1987, which was ranked #1 at one point that season. He also was on the Hawkeyes Sweet 16 team in 1988. He passed away at the age of 54.
