Iowa Central Baseball Set For Regional Tournament

Iowa Central Baseball is in action Friday afternoon, at the Regional Tournament in Cedar Rapids. The Tritons advanced after seeping North Iowa Area in a best of 3 series. The Regional tournament is a double elimination format.

Iowa Central will take on Northeast in the 1st game, the two teams split the 4 game season series. The Tritons come in 33-21 on the season and they are hitting over .290 as a team. Iowa Central as a team, has struck out just once in every 4.5 at bats on the season, they are scoring 7 runs per game. Brock Johnson, Ryan Wickman, and Derek Kay are all hitting well over .300 for Iowa Central.

The Tritons and Northeast meet at 1 PM Friday, the winner moves on to play at 2 PM Saturday. The loser will play in the elimination game Saturday at 11AM. The Regional tournament will conclude Sunday with the winner advancing to the District Tournament next week.

The District Tournament winner will advance to the NJCAA Division-II World Series in Enid, Oklahoma.
