Iowa Central Basketball Splits With DMACC

The Iowa Central Men’s And Women’s teams split a home double header this past Sunday against Des Moines Area Community College. Iowa Central took the women’s game 67-61. It was a back and forth affair and the teams were tied up at 50 after 3 quarters. Iowa Central would outscore DMACC 17-11 in the 4th to earn the win. The Tritons held DMACC to 34% shooting from the floor and 21% from 3 point range. Mardaeja Cross led the way for Iowa Central with a double-double performance of 22 points and 13 boards. Isabell West added 19 points and 8 boards. Hannah Mckinney led DMACC with 17. Iowa Central is now 4-2 in conference play having won their last 3 in a row.

DMACC Men’s team came in ranked 3rd in the country and cruised to an 80-54 victory. They got off to a strong start and had 39-17 lead over Iowa Central at the half. DMACC pounded the glass outrebounding Iowa Central 52-26 including a 9 to 3 advantage on the offensive boards. Two Tritons in double figures led by Zach Foulks with 13. Foulks has scored in double figures every game since his Triton debut on January 8th. DMACC had 5 guys in double digits led by Zach Lester and Ryan Schmitt with 16 each.
