Iowa Central Opens Season With Ranked Clash This Weekend

In addition to D-I in state schools, Iowa Central will also open their football season this weekend. The Tritons come in ranked 11th in the Juco Preseason Polls. They will face 7th ranked Lackawanna, Pennsylvania in a neutral site game Sunday in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

That’s Iowa Central Athletic Director Kevin Twait. He says that planning for a game like this has been ongoing for sometime.

The Tritons are coming fresh off a spring season with just three months in between the end of that season and the opening of this one. In the spring, Iowa Central went 6-3. They capped off the spring season with a win in the Graphic Edge Bowl over New Mexico Military, 23-21. That marked the first ever college football bowl game played in Fort Dodge.
