The Broadway Musical “Newsies” will be presented March 5th-7th at Iowa Central. Showtime is 7 pm for each night and will be in the Decker Auditorium. Ashley Garst is the Technical Theater Coordinator for the show and she said about the origin of the show “Newsies started as a 1992 musical film with Christian Bale, then was adapted to a Broadway Musical in 2012 and became available last year and we were like we are doing that show”. The show depicts the turn of the 20th century newspaper strike in which news boys went on strike after the price of the paper was raised by its editor Joseph Pulitzer. Tickets are $15 for adults , $5 for students and Iowa Central students are free with school ID. While tickets are expected to be available at the door, they do anticipate a large turnout so yiu are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time.
