Iowa Central Women’s Basketball Advances In Nationals After Opponent Withdraws

Iowa Central Women’s Basketball has advanced to the NJCAA National Quarterfinals without playing a game. The Triton Women were originally slated to take on 4th ranked Macomb, Michigan on Wednesday in the opening round. Macomb had to withdraw due to Covid-19 issues. No replacement opponent was found as the deadline for a replacement had already passed.

The Tritons now move on to the Quarterfinals on Thursday night. They will get the winner of Wednesday’s opening round game between Johnson County and Grand Rapids. The NJCAA Nationals are being held in Hickory, North Carolina.

Iowa Central advanced to Nationals after downing DMACC in the Regional Finals. Triton Forward Isabell West was named MVP of the Regionals and ICCAC Player Of The Year.
