Iowa DCI Says Suspect Shot Himself At End Of High Speed Chase Sunday In Fort Dodge

The Iowa DCI has released further details regarding the high speed chase Sunday that ended in Fort Dodge. The DCI says the driver was 18 year old, Isiah Christopher Mosely of Fort Dodge. According to a press release from the DCI, Mosely suffered a self inflicted gunshot wound in the incident.

The chase happened after Mosely was stopped in Carroll and a K-9 unit “hit” on the vehicle, he was driving. Mosely was asked to step out of the vehicle but instead drove off and led polic3e on a chase from Carroll to Fort Dodge at speeds over 100 MPH.

The State Patrol car intentionally bumped the vehicle driven by Mosely, he then went into the ditch. As Troopers approached, the car they found him with a self inflicted gunshot wound. They also found a pistol beside him in the car. Mosely was taken to Unity Point Fort Dodge, then transported to Iowa Methodist in Des Moines to be treated for his injuries.

No update on his condition was available.
