Iowa National Guard Soldiers Return Home

It was an emotional homecoming over the weekend for soldiers returning to Iowa, from an overseas deployment. Nearly 250 Iowa National Guard soldiers were deployed a year ago, on Saturday those soldiers returned home. Ceremonies were held in Fort Dodge and in Des Moines to celebrate their return.

The soldiers had spent a year being deployed in various locations, mostly in the Middle East. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds was on hand at the return ceremony and had this to say.

The soldiers that returned home were made up of members of the 1st Battalion, 194th Field Artillery Division, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team and 34th Infantry Division.
