Iowa State Gets Rare Home Win Over Oklahoma

In a game heard Saturday Night on “True Country” 540 KWMT, Iowa State rallied from down double digits to beat Oklahoma 37-30. The Cyclones scored twice  in the final seven minutes and 26 seconds.   ISU coach Matt Campbell credits the seniors for bringing the Cyclones back.

QB Brock Purdy threw for 254 yards and a touchdown and had a rushing TD. His play in the Oklahoma Game was a vast improvement over his week 1 performance in a loss to Louisiana-Lafayette.
RB Breece Hall rushed for 135 yards and his eight yard touchdown run with just over four minutes remaining was the game winning score. It was the second straight week that Hall topped 100 yards of rushing.

It was the first home win for Iowa State over Oklahoma since 1960. It was Matt Campbell’s 2nd win over OU the first coming in Norman back in 2017. Before Coach Campbell arrived in Ames, Iowa State had not beaten Oklahoma since 1990.
