The AP Preseason All Americans were announced on Monday. Iowa State and Notre Dame led the way with the most players named to the 1st team, with three each. Iowa landed one on the 1st team in Junior Center Tyler Linderbaum.
Heisman hopeful RB Breece Hall got the most votes for ISU, he was joined by teammates Charlie Kolar at TE and LB Mike Rose. The Cyclones are expected to be in the mix for the Big 12 Title, they’ll have to contend with defending champs Oklahoma. Sooner standout Spencer Rattler was named 1st team QB.
Notre Dame’s Cain Madden was named 1st team Guard, along with teammate Kyren Williams at the utility position and Kyle Hamilton at Safety. The Irish also landed Center Jarrett Patterson on the second team. Minnesota RB Mohammed Ibrahim also garnered a spot on the second team.
The Cyclones opens Sept. 4th when they host UNI. Iowa opens with a ranked opponent, when they host #17 Indiana.
