One month after a horrific accident at a Des Moines amusement park, an Iowa teenager has been released from the hospital. 16 year old, David Jaramillo left Blank Children’s Hospital on Tuesday evening. He had been undergoing treatment there since July 3rd, when a water ride at Adevntureland malfunctioned.
The accident killed David’s 11 year old brother Michael, when the family was in a boat that flipped over on the Raging River ride. At one point during his hospitalization, David was in a medically induced coma due to the severity of his injuries.
In a recovery that his family describes as “miraculous” , David was able to walk under his own power prior to leaving the hospital.
The investigation into the accident is still ongoing, the ride has remained closed since July 3rd.
