Local Musicians Play Bedside Concert for Humboldt Woman in Hospice Care
(Brooke Bickford – Alpha Media) The call was made to local musician Jesse Wilson yesterday to see if he could help a Humboldt woman in Hospice care with a bucket list request. Within a couple hours Jesse had gotten ahold of his friend and fellow musician Scott Kirkhart and the two made the trip to Penny Poutre’s bedside for a special country music concert.
According to Penny’s daughter-in-law, Lindsey Poutre, this was the latest in a line of bucket list items Penny’s loved ones along with Humboldt Hospital staff and the community has facilitated for her.
In the past week or so, she has gotten a tattoo by Humboldt Tattoo Artist Haley Studyvin and been front row at her first drag queen show.
A video of that event was posted by her niece on Tik Tock and has since gone viral with Penny’s story even being featured on The Today Show online.

For those who know Penny Poutre, the events that have followed her admission to the hospital are in honor of a woman who has touched so many lives.

“To know Penny is to love Penny,” Lindsey Poutre said. “You could meet her for five minutes and you feel like you’ve been her friend or her family for your entire life.”
