Kirk Ferentz On Bowl Game Cancellation

The Music City Bowl has announced that Wednesday’s game between Iowa and Missouri has been canceled. The move comes after a rise in COVID-19 cases in the Mizzou program. Here’s comments from Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz on the cancellation.

After having no interruptions the first eight weeks of the season, the Hawkeyes had their final two games called off. Their final regular season game against Michigan was canceled due to an outbreak in the Wolverine program. Ferentz says every program has been affected by COVID and the Hawkeyes feel fortunate they were able to play eight games.

Ferentz feels bad for the seniors who won’t get to finish their careers in a bowl game.

The comments from Coach Ferentz are courtesy of Radio Iowa Sports. The Hawkeyes finish their season at 6-2. Iowa has now finished with a winning record for 8 straight seasons and done so 19 times in 22 seasons under Ferentz.
