Kruger Steps Down As Women’s Basketball Coach At Iowa Central
Iowa Central Head Women’s Basketball Coach Kelly Kruger has stepped down after four seasons at helm of the Tritons. Kruger just completed his 34th season overall as a head coach at the college level. at the end of the 2020 season. Kruger led the Triton Women’s program to back to back winning seasons after a 17-14 season this year and was .500 in ICCAC play in the last 2 years as well. He had previous stops as a head coach at Ashford University, Adams State and Southwest Minnesota State. He had success in each of those stops at SW Minnesota St he was a 3 time selection for Conference Coach Of The Year and led the schools its first ever NCAA tournament appearance. While at Adams State he led the program to back to back 2o win seasons and a Sweet 16 appearance in 2011. The Kruger era at Ashford was one of firsts as under his guidance the program there earned its first conference title, then would repeat that feat, would win a game in the NAIA National Tourney for the first time on the way to the program’s first NAIA Sweet 16.
