Large Scale Covid-19 Outbreak Reported At Area Prison

A large scale covid-19 outbreak has been reported at an area prison. According to the Iowa Dept. Of Public Health and Iowa Dept. of Corrections over 200 inmates at the North Central Correctional Facility have tested positive. The State sayd that 254 of the 400 inmates at the prison in Rockwell City have tested positive, for a positivity rate of over 63%. Four staff members have also tested positive, three of those four have recovered according to the Iowa DOC. Inmate visits had already been suspended and volunteer activity has also been suspended in hopes helping to mitigate the spread of the virus.
