Last Businesses Moving to New Locations As Former Crossroads Mall in Fort Dodge Closes
The former Crossroads Mall in Fort Dodge is set to close for good next Tuesday.
Months after the Fort Dodge City Council voted to replace the mall with a 90 million dollar project called the Corridor Plaza signs are now up showing its last day is September 6th.
Shoe Sensation and Hacienda Vieja have been the last two businesses standing in the mall, and they have both found new homes.
Manager of the Fort Dodge Shoe Sensation, Brittany Drake told Alpha Media that they will be moving to their new location at 1513 2nd Avenue North, the former Active Health Chiropractic location next to the former Family Video.
A new location and a new chance to stay in business in Fort Dodge for a Mexican restaurant that’s future was in limbo.
Hacienda Vieja was one of the last businesses standing in the former Crossroads Mall when they were told their lease would not be extended any further.
With little to no time to build, the business owners approached another local business owner who ultimately found a solution which was to move the business into what had been Buford’s Steakhouse on Highway 169 in Fort Dodge.
Hacienda Vieja has now closed for good in their former location but have announced plans via their Facebook Page that they will be open in the new location at 1518 3rd Avenue Northwest this Friday. For hours and more details you can check out their Facebook page.
