Lights at Kennedy Sets New Records

2020 MARKED THE 17TH YEAR FOR LIGHTS AT KENNEDY, WHICH IS SPONSORED BY FORT DODGE NOON SERTOMA AND FORT DODGE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS.  ANDY REED, PLANNER FOR THE EVENT, SAID THAT THIS YEAR THE EVENT BROKE SEVERAL RECORDS.  REED SAID THAT THERE WERE 28 DISPLAYS THIS YEAR, SIX OF WHICH WERE NEW.  2019 SAW OVER 2800 CARS GO THROUGH THE DISPLAY, A RECORD WHICH WAS BROKEN IN 2020.  THIS YEAR, REED SAID THEIR OPEN NIGHT SAW 587 CARS AND THAT RECORD WAS BROKEN EACH NIGHT, WITH THE 19TH SEEING THE MOST CARS AT 740.  IN ALL, OVER FOUR THOUSAND CARS DROVE THROUGH THE LIGHTED DISPLAY.  REED SAID THE EVENT TAKES DONATIONS THAT SUPPORT SERTOMAS PROJECTS SUCH AS BACKPACK BUDDIES, VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK, SERTOMA SANTA, AND OTHERS.
