A local couple has been arrested after allegedly purchasing multiple vehicles with bad checks. 39 year old, Fort Dodge resident Adam L Schrodt and his girlfriend 37 year old Tasha L. Becker were arrested in Fort Dodge Tuesday. The couple was apprehended after the vehicle they were driving had been reported stolen in Urbandale, after they allegedly wrote a fraudulent check to a dealership there. The vehicle was tracked through its satellite radio system. The couple is accused of writing over $200,000 worth of bogus checks to several area dealerships. According to police reports, Fort Dodge Ford Toyota, Kemna Auto, Lacina Auto, and Fort Dodge Motors are all received bad checks from the couple for vehicle purchases. Both Schrodt and Becker face charges of first degree theft, first degree fraudulent practice, and ongoing criminal practice. They are slated to appear in court Friday Dec. 11th.
