Man Gets Probation For Throwing Water On Congressman Steve King

The man who admittedly threw a cup of water on Congressman Steve King at a Fort Dodge restaurant has been sentenced to probation. Blake Gibbins of Lafayette, Colorado was sentenced to two years of probation in federal court. Gibbons admitted in a plea agreement that on March 22nd 2019 he walked over to King’s table and threw a cup of water on him. The attorney for Gibbins say his client’s actions may have been the result of emotional pressure as Gibbins was in town for the funeral of a family member. Gibbins pleaded guilty to a charge of misdemeanor assault on a member of congress. In addition to the probation Gibbins must also perform 200 hours of community service. He had no prior criminal history.
