More Protest Coverage: Bemrich Comments, Protesters & Police Show Unity

The formation of and talk of protests in Fort Dodge began spreading Sunday evening. Protesters gathered around 9 PM at the Downtown Square on Central Ave. Similar situations have turned violent and chaotic in various parts of the U.S. recently. This one however, was one that had a different vibe and tone to it. The protests while spirited were done in a peaceful manner. Near the conclusion of the protest rally both protesters and police all got on one knee in a show of unity and recited “The Lord’s Prayer”.

Fort Dodge Mayor Matt Bemrich was on the scene of the protests and talked to Rob Jones. Bemrich commended protesters for their approach.

Bemrich then praised the Fort Dodge Police Dept.’s handling of the situation as well.

The protests Sunday Night  lasted a little over two hours   and remained peaceful before dispersing without incident.
