A collaborative new business opened in Fort Dodge over the weekend at 1222 Central Avenue.

The business Fear to Dream owned by Dreyzon Phillips and just for kicks shoes owned by Taj Lowery opened for business on Friday.

Both Phillips and Lowery are Fort Dodge natives. Phillips said the collaboration happened after they saw a need for a store like theirs in the community. “We saw this spot about three weeks ago and we figured out we wanted to do a shoes slash clothing store,” Phillips said. “We figured we would bring something to Dodge that has a little flavor.”

Lowery said it’s a little unreal that the idea he and his friend shared now has its own store.

“He texted me one day and said hey you want to open a store? We talked about it for awhile but I didn’t think it would actually come true.”

The business is open 11am-7pm everyday except Sunday.
