New Covid-19 Vaccine Being Developed At Iowa State

A New Covid-19 Vaccine is in the developmental stages at Iowa State University. The new vaccine would be of the two dose variety. The new vaccine is said to be different in how it seeks to provide immunization.

Dr. Michael Cho is leading the effort and he says the naccine contains pre-made protein that helps to protect against the virus. Experts say, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines rely on protein created by the nody of the recipient and do not include ready made protein.

The vaccine is currently undergoing lab trials. Dr. Cho says early indications show the new vaccine should protect at the same levels as the existing vaccines.
