The waiting is over as the city of Fort Dodge now knows who will become the new chief of police.

An announcement made earlier today named current Fort Dodge Police Department Captain Dennis Quinn as the new chief of police.

Captain Quinn was one of two candidates for the position.

He has been a member of the Fort Dodge Police Department for 14 years.

He will assume his duties on April 5th as current Chief of Police Roger Porter retires on April 4th after 27 years on the force.
