The idea of a new non-profit grocery store in the area is now a reality. Manson Hometown Grocery opened late last week. Manson had been without a grocery store for about a year after the chain grocery store there closed. Manson residents began organizing an effort to open a new store back in January and February of this year. Manson Mayor Dave Anderson believes the new grocery store is key to growth in that area.
The Manson Hometown Grocery offers residents that same type of features as other stores without having to drive out of Manson. Residents of Manson raised well over $150,000 to launch the new store. Mayor Anderson says now with this second opportunity, he feels everyone in Manson will realize how important shopping local is.
Their are plans to add new features to the store in the upcoming future.
