New Pet Supply Store Opening in Fort Dodge

(Alpha Media – Brooke Bickford) A new store that caters to your furry friends is coming to Fort Dodge very soon. Alpha Media has confirmed that Pet Supplies Plus will be opening a new store right next door to Harbour Freight. In fact, according to the developer of the building at 2950 5th Avenue South, Travis Townsley, Pet Supplies Plus will be sharing the building that used to be home to Office Max.

City of Fort Dodge Community and Economic Development Director Vicki Reeck says this will be an exciting addition to that corner of 5th Ave South.

“I think it’s always exciting to see somebody new come to the Fort Dodge market especially when they take a building that’s been vacant awhile and fill it with a new tenant,” Reeck said. “I think a lot of times people think we have a lot more control than we do whereas the retailers are looking at market research to see if it’s a viable location and they make the decisions ultimately on where they’re going to put a new store.”

The pet supply store is just the latest in a line of businesses to open on that corner that is home to Arby’s and Harbour Freight and soon will welcome a Drive-Thru Starbucks.

The new store is expected to open this summer.
