Newell-Fonda Girls Coach Dick Jungers Talks State Title Win With Rob Jones

The 2021 Iowa Girls Basketball Tournament is now in the books. In the most highly anticipated game of the season statewide, Newell-Fonda avenged their regular season loss to Bishop Garrigan. The Mustangs won their 3rd State Title dowining Bishop Garrigan 66-52. In his first radio interview since winning State on Saturday, Coach Dick Jungers joined Rob Jones to give his reaction. The two talked about Newell-Fonda’s game plan going in and how well they executed. They talked about the  formula for Newell-Fonda of creating turnovers, scoring on turnovers and valuing the ball. They talked about the Mustangs system of team focused basketball with 9 different players scoring and 13 different players playing in the State Finals. The entire conversation is below.
