Newell-Fonda In State Title Game Thursday For The 1st Time In Over A Decade

Top ranked Newell-Fonda scored two runs in the third inning and four more in the fourth to beat fifth ranked Southeast Warren 7-3 in a class 1A semifinal. The Mustangs are now 37-4 on the season. Senior CF Bailey Sievers says her team is taking momentum into Thursday’s Title game
It is Newell-Fonda’s first trip to the championship since 2010.
The Mustangs have given up just 3 runs in two wins at the State Tournament. They’ll meet #3 Lisbon who is scoring 7 runs per game at State. The 1A State Title game is at 5 PM this evening (Thursday) on Kruger Seeds Field.
