No Charges to Be Filed on Owner of Dogs That Attacked a Fort Dodge Woman
The Webster County Attorney’s Office states no charges will be filed against the owner of three dogs that attacked a woman last month.
From Webster County Attorney Darren Driscoll:
“The law enforcement investigation into the dog attack in Fort Dodge on November 24 has been completed. These dogs attacked the victim while she was inside the home of the dog owner, alone with the animals. Law enforcement responding to the scene shot and killed all three dogs involved in the attack. There was nothing revealed during the investigation to indicate that any criminal act occurred. This is a shocking tragedy and we wish the victim strength as she recuperates from her injuries.”

A press release from the  Fort Dodge Police Department states that an officer was sent to the 800 block of South 16th Street after receiving a call about someone screaming for help. The responding shot and killed the dogs to stop the attack.

The woman who was attacked has been identified by family members as Brittany Skoland. She remains in a Des Moines hospital where she has undergone multiple surgeries.

So far a go fund me page set up by her aunt has gained nearly $24-thousand dollars in donations for the Fort Dodge mother.
