One Of Five Suspects In 2020 Pleasant Valley Fatal Shooting Has Murder Charges Dropped

Murder charges have been dropped against one of the men, who was charged in a shooting in Fort Dodge that left two people dead. 23 year old, Fort Dodge resident Darrell L. Jones had been charged with two counts of 2nd degree murder. The charges stemmed from the shooting in the Pleasant Valley area last June, that killed Jamael Cox and Tyrone Cunningham.

The prosecution says they likely would not have been able to prove the murder charges against Jones. However, new charges have been filed against him stemming from the incident. Those charges include , two counts of intimidation with a weapon and a charge of felon in possession of a gun.

The murder charges still stand for the four other men allegedly involved in the shooting. Those men are 55 year old Michael Shivers of Eagle Grove, 33 year old Michael Wells, 35 year old James Davis and 22 year old Jeremiah Hatten all of Fort Dodge.
