A person of interest in the homicide investigation of 45 year old Ryan Andrews of Fort Dodge has been brought into police custody. According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, David Dayton was located at a residence in Bode. Dayton exited the residence and is now in custody for his parole violation out of Pocahontas.
According to the FDPD, on Wednesday at around 1:15 pm, investigators received information regarding Dayton’s location.
Fort Dodge police officers, with the assistance of
the Iowa State Patrol Tactical Team as well as multiple other law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at a residence in Bode.
Law enforcement on scene made numerous attempts to make contact with Dayton inside the residence and were unsuccessful. Multiple tactics were utilized to manage the
incident and safeguard the well‐being of Dayton, the community, and law enforcement. After a thorough and professional response by law enforcement Dayton exited the residence without incident.
There is no ongoing threat to public safety.
