Pocahontas County Man Dies In Tractor Accident

A tractor accident in Pocahontas County left one person dead. The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office says that 83 year old, Leroy L. Simonson of Rolfe died as a result of the accident Wednesday.

Deputies were dispatched to an address just outside of Rolfe around 4 PM. A Thursday statement from the Sheriff’s Office says, an attachment to the loader on the tractor came apart. That caused the tracotr to run over the attachment and subsequently ejected Simonson from the tractor.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rolfe Fire Dept. and Ambulance.
