Police Chief Roger Porter Speaks On Protest March

Fort Dodge Police Chief Roger Porter spoke following the protest march in Fort Dodge Sunday Night. Porter said his department had to prepare quickly and had very little advanced warning of the protest.
Porter said the main objective for the Fort Dodge Police during the protest was to listen to the community.
He praised protesters for having a peaceful approach and says he believes that is how things are accomplished.
Porter feels this protest was one that was done the right way and went much smoother than most other protests around the country.
Porter says his department is focused on bridging the gap but he knows it will be a process.
