Police Presence at Fort Dodge Park Ends Without Incident Thursday
Police presence in the Snell Crawford area this morning was in response to a man threatening to harm himself.
According to a press release from the Fort Dodge Police Department officers discovered the male in his vehicle parked inside Snell Crawford Park.
Officers set up a perimeter to ensure safety for the male as well as the community. The male communicated with officers and dispatch via telephone for an extended period of time. After approximately two and a half hours, the male exited his vehicle without
The male was transported to Unity Point‐Trinity Regional Medical Center. No injuries
were reported, and a firearm was recovered.
The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted on scene by the Iowa State Patrol, the
Webster County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fort Dodge Fire Department.
