Police Respond To Thursday Afternoon Fight In Fort Dodge

A fight in downtown Fort Dodge resulted in a heavy police presence early Thursday afternoon. The Fort Dodge Police Dept. was dispatched to the Biltwell Apartments on North 10th St, around 1 Pm Thursday, on a report of possible shots fired.

When officers arrived, they discovered two men had gotten into a fight and no shots had been fired. One of the men was treated by the Fort Dodge Fire Dept. on the scene for his injuries, he was then released. Officers were later called back to the Biltwell, to resolve trespassing issues with those involved in the previous incident.

Capt. Ryan Gruenberg said in a statement Thursday Afternoon “we are currently investigating this incident as an assault, but no charges have been filed as of this time”. The Police Dept. had not released the names of anyone involved in the incident, as of the time of this report.
