Prosecutors To Call 8 Year Old To Testify In Murder Trial

The prosecution in a Des Moines triple a homicide case plan to call an 8 year old boy to testify. The boy is the son of the defendant in the case, Marvin Esquivel-Lopez. The stated filed a motion last Wednesday that would allow the boy to testify via closed circuit TV feed. Esquivel-Lopez faces 3 counts of 1st degree Murder stemming from the July shooting deaths of 29 year old Rossibeth Flores- Rodriguez and her two children in Des Moines. Court records claim the boy was an eye witness to the incident. Esquivel-Lopez is a Guatemalan national who was deported twice prior to the alleged incident. In 2010 , he was convicted of entering the U.S. illegally. He has pleaded not guilty in the case and the trial is scheduled to start January 27th.
