Reynolds Proclaims Oct. 2nd “Serving Our Servants” Day In Honor Of Pastor Al Henderson

Governor Kim Reynolds has proclaimed Friday Oct. 2nd as “Serving Our Servants” Day in honor of the late Pastor Al Henderson. Reynolds has promised that Oct.2nd each year will be recognized as such. Henderson was robbed and killed one year ago Friday, outside of his church St. Paul Lutheran of Fort Dodge. Henderson ministered to police, firefighters and first responders serving as chaplain for those groups. The organization “Serving Our Servants” has titled Friday “Pay It Forward Friday” in Pastor Henderson’s memory. They are encouraging everyone to perform acts of kindness for others. St. Paul Lutheran will be serving a meal Friday to police, fire and EMS workers Friday. A candlelight vigil will be held o honor the memory of Rev. Al Henderson at 7:30 PM at the Fort Dodge City Square. State Senator Tim Kraayenbrink was instrumental in getting this accomplished, he will be reading the proclamation at the candlelight vigil.
