Saturday Morning Sports Programming Updates

Over the course of the last few months the “Saturday Morning Sports Block” on 99.7 FM has gained momentum and popularity. There will be a couple of changes to that, one is just due to Thanksgiving Weekend , the other will be more permanent. The 1st change is that the “Hy-Vee Fort Dodge Coaches Corner Show” that normally airs at 9 AM, will not take place Saturday Nov. 30th due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. That show will return December 7th at 9 AM and will run each week through basketball season with the exception of Saturday morning Dec. 28th (due to Christmas holiday). Rob Jones The Sports Director And Voice Of Dodger Sports will continue to host that show. The other change is regarding the “In The Zone With Rob Jones” program (College football talk show)  that has aired at 8 AM on Saturdays. Rob has by his own choosing decided that with college football’s regular season ending on Nov. 30th and the increased demands on his time due to basketball, hosting the coaches corner, hosting “Dodger Daily” every weekday on KVFD, and his full time duties as News and Sports Director he will no longer be doing the “In The Zone” show. “In The Zone” will air for the final time of the season Saturday Nov. 30th at 8am on 99.7 Fm and be available via live stream here on our website. The thought is at this point that the “In The Zone With Rob Jones” program will return next football season. In regard to that decision Rob had this to say ” it totally was my decision, the company has supported all my efforts that show included at a high level since day one. I love the In The Zone show, I have done that show in markets in various states and in various incarnations off and on for almost 14 years. However, with all the demands on my time and everything on my plate, going forward I can’t devote the time it takes for me to put out a quality product on that show. I would like to thank everybody who listens to that show both those who listen terrestrially here in Central Iowa and those who listen online from various parts of the country. I feel like each week I gave my best effort to that show and gave the listeners something unique to this area and a quality nationally comprehensive college football show. I’d like to thank all the guests I have had on the show many of which I have known for years and worked with in some capacity in the past in other markets.”
