Second Arrest Made In Connection With Greene County Bank Robbery

A second arrest has been made in connection with the bank robbery in Greene County last week. 26 year old, Tyler Scott Mattingly of Carroll has been arrested for his alleged role in the robbery of the People’s Bank in Scranton.

Mattingly faces charges after police say, he helped plan the robbery. The robbery was allegedly executed by 26 year old, Zachary Michael Anderson Wailes of Fort Dodge. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office says about $20,000 was taken in the robbery.

The Carroll Times-Herald is reporting, that a woman who had been arrested for an unrelated crime, told investigators she was asked by Wailes and Mattingly to make a false report of a crash in Greene County to create a diversion. The Times-Herald’s report says, the woman claims she did not know at the time that the false report was part of the bank robbery scheme.
