Serving More Than a Thanksgiving Meal: How Volunteers, Iowa Central Students and a Fort Dodge Business Team Up Each Year to Serve Community Togetherness Each Year at a Fort Dodge Dealership
Christmas is quickly approaching and at about this time in 2009 a Fort Dodge family was sitting together enjoying their Thanksgiving meal when a conversation began over those who may not be so lucky to be surrounded by family on the holiday.
Abigail Johnson, co-owner of Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota says it was then that the Johnson family began the idea of a community Thanksgiving at the dealership.
She says there are so many people who make this meal so special each year, from the culinary students and Chef Michael at ICCC to the volunteers who spend their holiday making sure others aren’t alone.
The Thanksgiving dinner will be held this Thursday from 1130 to 130 at the dealership located on 5th Avenue South in Fort Dodge. To hear the full interview click below
