Shooting Victim Identified

FORT DODGE POLICE HAVE IDENTIFIED THE VICTIM INVOLVED IN A SHOOTING THAT OCCURRED WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AS 38-YEAR-OLD MAGGIE HURDEL OF FORT DODGE.  FORT DODGE POLICE CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE THE FATAL SHOOTING THAT OCCURRED IN THE 500 BLOCK OF SOUTH 19TH STREET.  POLICE WERE CALLED TO A RESIDENCE ON REPORT OF A SHOOTING AND UPON ARRIVAL LOCATED AN UNRESPONSIVE FEMALE VICTIM, WITH WHAT APPEARED TO BE A GUNSHOT WOUND.  MAGGIE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE BY THE MEDICAL EXAMINER.  POLICE ARE CONTINUING THEIR INVESTIGATION AND ARE ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE 43-YEAR-OLD JUSTIN HURDEL FOR QUESTIONING.  HURDEL HAS A PRIOR HISTORY WITH LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT, INCLUDING A PRIOR ARREST THIS SUMMER FOR DOMESTIC ASSAULT.  HURDEL IS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MALE, WITH BROWN HAIR AND BROWN EYES, 5 FEET 8 INCHES TALL AND APPROXIMATELY 226 POUNDS.  A SEARCH WAS CONDUCTED THROUGHOUT FORT DODGE YESTERDAY, INCLUDING AVENUE B SOUTH AND THE SOUTH RIVER ROAD FOLLOWING THE DISCOVERY OF HIS VEHICLE.  ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ON THIS CASE OR THE WHEREABOUTS OF MR.
