Some Schools Not Having Summer Sports

WITH THE ONGOING COVID19 CRISIS, MANY SCHOOLS ARE LOOKING AHEAD TO FALL.  AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED, GOVERNOR KIM REYNOLDS GAVE THE GREEN LIGHT TO THE SUMMER SPORTS SEASON, BUT THE BELMOND-KLEMME DISTRICT CHOSE NOT TO HAVE THEIR SUMMER SEASON.  SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER GARY BERKLAND EXPLAINS THE CHANGING LANDSCAPE FOR THIS YEAR

.  SOUTH CENTRAL CALHOUN ANNOUNCED THAT THEIR HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL PRACTICES WOULD BEGIN ON JUNE 1, WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES IN PLACE.  THOSE GUIDELINES CAN BE FOUND ON THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION WEBSITE.  THE FULL PRESS RELEASE FROM SOUTH CENTRAL CALHOUN IS AVAILABLE ON THEIR WEBSITE, AND STATES THAT TWIN LAKES CONFERENCE ATHLETIC DIRECTORS ARE MEETING THIS COMING TUESDAY TO SET THE SCHEDULE FOR COMPETITION.
