South Central Calhoun Academic Decathlon Team Qualifies For Nationals

The South Central Calhoun Titans Academic Decathlon team recently won the State Championship in the Small School Division, outscoring all the small school division teams and 11 of 12 large school division teams. The team has now earned a spot in the USAD National Championships in Anchorage, Alaska April 30th though May 2nd. The team can only compete as a complete group. In order to ensure that they can make the trip, they are working together to raise money so that all 11 students and 2 coaches can attend. Under the coaching of John Olson, the SCC Academic Decathlon teams have won the Iowa Small School Regional Competition 21 years in a row. Mr. Olson has led the team to victory on the state level 14 times.
