South Central Calhoun Boys Going To State For The 1st Time In School History

In a game heard Saturday Night on 105-9 “The Beach” and here on our website, South Central Calhoun Boy’s punched their ticket to the State Tournament.

Brian Peters on the final as South Central Calhoun downs Iowa Falls- Alden 64-56 to advance. The Titans trailed 17-10 after the 1st but outscored the Cadets 22-10 in the 2nd. titans led 32-27 at the break. Iowa Falls Alden would take the 3rd quarter 13-8 and the game would be knotted up at 40 after 3. The Titans would open the 4th with this play.

The 3 from Homer Marz was part of a 24-16 4th that lifted SCC to the win. Titans had three in double figures , Josh Deitrich had a “double-double” with 20 points and 14 boards, Eli Wheelock had 14 and Cole Corey added 10. For Iowa Falls, Karson Sharar had a herculean effort with a game high 31 in the loss.

South Central Calhoun will now go to the Boys State Tournament for the 1st time since becoming South Central Calhoun. They drew the 8th seed and will take on undefeated #1 Boyden-Hull on Monday march 8th at 6 PM. Alpha Media Sports will present coverage of all of the South Central Calhoun Boys games at State.
