In his 3rd year at the helm of St. Edmond Football Coach Matt Dillon and his squad have started to turn the corner. Last year, due to injuries and other issues St. Edmond struggled to a 2-7 record. This season with most of his personnel back from last season and now healthy they started 3-0 and were 4-1 after 5 weeks. That lone loss was on the road to defending State Champs West Hancock which was ranked #6 coming into week 6. The Gaels did suffer a road loss to Alta-Aurelia in week 6 43-22. St. Edmond scored late in the 1st half and the game was tied at 22 at halftime. The 2nd half was all Alta-Aurelia as they outscored St. Edmond 21-0 after the break. Coach Matt Dillon joined the Hy-Vee Fort Dodge Coaches Corner on Sunny 99.7 to talk with Rob Jones about the week 6 loss, the needed adjustments and to preview their week 7 game vs Bishop Garrigan. That conversation is below.
