St. Edmond Golf Looks To Bring “Big Gold” Back From State Tourney

St. Edmond Boys Golf will look to bring the “big gold trophy” from the State Tournament. The first round of competition is today (Thursday) with second round action set for Friday.

St. Edmond has an experienced squad led by four Seniors, Drew Schaeffer, Peyton Scott, Devon Wirtz and Ben Anderson. They also feature Sophomores Caleb Schaeffer and Riley Travis.

The Gaels won the Sectional and then the District tournament last week, to qualify for State. The Gaels will compete with other area teams such as AGWSR and Newell-Fonda. The Class 1A State Tournament is being played at Westwood Golf Course in Newton.
