The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams for St. Edmond both finished 12th in the team standings at the 1A State Meet at Lakeside Saturday. Senior Aubrey Bemrich led the St. Edmond Girls finishing in the top 30 individually. Following Bemrich for the Gaels were Freshman Hannah Landwehr who was their 2nd runner to finish. Kelli Kersten, Caroline Shelly and Grace Harvey were 3rd,4th and 5th for the Gaels. St. Edmond’s Girls ran shorthanded without Michaela Leiting and Reese Lemberg. Aaron Lursen led the St.Edmond Boys he was 48th overall individually. He was followed by Ronnie Orres who was the 2nd St. Edmond runner to finish. Drew Szalat, Devin Wirtz and Hayden Mayer were 3rd-5th finishers for St. Edmond.

In the 3A Boys race Friday Humboldt Senior Quinton Orr finished his spectacular career with a 2nd place finish individually. It was the third silver finish for Orr in his high school career , making him just the 2nd runner in Iowa history to do so. His teammate Eric Wittrock finished 16th overall. On the girls side, Algona’s Moriah Knapp finished 51st overall individually.

In the 1A Girls race Saturday, Manson NW Webster finished 51st on the girls side. Senior Maddie Moline led the way finishing 4th overall and teammate Pressley Oswald was 13th.
