Day one of the 2021 State Track Meet is in the books and the city of Fort Dodge already has a gold medal winner. The St. Edmond Girls won Gold in the 4X800 relay. That group includes Caroline Shelly, Aubrey Bemrich, Emma Alstott and Michaela Leiting. They won the event by nearly 5 seconds over the second place finisher. Andee Narwin finished 21st in the 400.

For St. Edmond’s Boys, Kase Baker qualified for the finals in the 200. The St. Edmond Boys 4X800 group finished 12th. That group consists of Drew Szalat, Hayden Meyer, Grant Heldorfer, and Aaron Lursen.

Fort Dodge’s Tyler Schreier was 10th in the prelims for the 100 meters. Jon Astor finished 19th in the discuss. The Boys Shuttle Hurdle Relay group of Connor Carver, Tyler Kasperbauer, Jerry Chada and Amaris Harris finished 19th. For the girls, Alaeaha Pommer was 24th in the 200.

The Dodger Boys are scheduled to compete Friday on the 4X100, also on Friday Sawyer Springer is set to compete in the shot put. The Dodger Girls 4×100 relay group is set to compete Friday. The Boys Sprint Medley Group is set to compete Saturday.

Southeast Valley’s Kiersten Fisher took Silver in the long jump. She also qualified for the upcoming finals in the 100 meters.

Tre Fisher was 6th for Southeast Valley’s Boys in the long jump and teammate Sam Hanson was 10th.

West Bend-Mallard’s Rachel Fehr tooK Gold in the 400. Her 2nd state title in that event. Fehr holds school records in 4 different sprint events. West Bend Mallard’s 4X800 Girls relay team finished 7th.

For Manson NW Webster, Lexi Wood was 7th in the shot put, Maddy Moline was 6th in the 3000 and Presslie Oswald was 20th in the 3000. The Manson Boys qualified for the finals in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay, that crew is Dayton Snell, Brodie Anderson, Cael Collins and Ethan Egli.

Humboldt’s Quinton Orr took Bronze on the 3200, he will compete in three more events tomorrow.

Pocahontas Area’s Dane Johnson finished 4th in the shot put. Trey Oehlertz qualified for the finals in the 100 and 200 meters.

Newell- Fonda’s Carter Sievers finished 6th in the long jump. The Mustangs 4×800 Girls relay group of Macy & Bailey Sievers, Kierra Jungers and Isable Bartek finished 6th.

Bishop Garrigan multi-sport star Audi Crooks won Gold in the shot put. Teammate Molly Joyce finished 1st in the long jump.
